Who We Are |

| PS 3
'til 6 is an arts and
recreation afterschool program which
serves kindergarten through 5th grade students in the PS 3 community.
We strive to provide an environment in which each child feels safe,
respected and encouraged to explore a variety of fun and enriching
activities. We endorse the PS3 Mission Statement and its founding
principles. PS 3 'til 6 is self-supporting; the program receives no financial aid from the school district, city or state. Tuition is our sole source of funding. If we do not receive tuition payments in a timely fashion we are unable to pay our expenses. Therefore prompt and full payment is crucial! PS 3 'til 6 is managed by parent volunteers drawn from the PS 3 community who serve on the Board of Directors. This helps us keep tuition costs as low as possible. The Board is responsible for setting program policy (including pricing and payment schedules), fiscal oversight, choosing partnership organizations and hiring program administrator(s). For school year 2010-2011 we will partner with Empire Children's Programs a local afterschool provider serving schools in downtown Manhattan. Their resources and expertise enchance and support all our program activities. In 2001, PS 3 'til 6 was designated a not-for-profit corporation ( c ) ( 3 ). The PS 3'til6 Board strives to keep costs as low as possible and welcomes any grant opportunities that help enrich the program. |
