Camille Habacker, Co-President

Camille Habacker is mother to Veronica Faye, who will be a 2nd grader in the Fall. By day she works as an IT professional for Guardian Life, by night (one night a week, at least) she DJs and performs at The Slipper Room, the club she owns with her husband, James, and the site of many a PS 3 class potluck. Camille also has a son, Lincoln, who will be ready for pre-K in September 2010.








Alison Nelson
, Co-President

Alison Nelson is the mother to Lulu entering the first grade and Sailor who intends to take PS3 by storm in 2010.  A life long New Yorker Alison attended the New York Institute of Technology and Eugene Lang College. Alison is founding owner of Chocolate Bar on 8th Avenue and has lived and worked in the neighborhood for much of her adult life.  She finds PS3 to be the perfect fit for her family and can be found many morning after drop off at San Panino with a coffee in hand!






Michael Honig, Treasurer

Proud parent of two wonderful boys at PS3, Matthew & Max, who will be third and fifth graders in the fall.  Michael is a partner at Honig Conte Porrino Insurance Agency, Inc and currently serves as Director on the Council of Insurance Brokers of Greater New York and was appointed as an Alternate Public Member of the NYAIP.  He has earned the Designation of Certified Insurance Counselor.  Saturday’s and Sunday’s are currently filled with helping out at the Greenwich Village Little League as Assistant Coach and BUCBITS (Back Up Catcher Baking In The Sun).  While Michael can never fill the shoes of his dedicated and wonderful wife Claire he hopes he can be of assistance and service to the PS3 community.







Cathy Marino-Thomas,
VP Class Parents/New Families

Cathy’s daughter, Jackie, will be a 4th grader in the Fall.  Cathy is the VP for Class Parents and New Families and leads the Class Parent/New Family Committee with Co-Chair Susan Crowson. Cathy works for PricewaterhouseCoopers full time and has been an activist for LGBT rights for many years.




Kate Freedman, Co-VP of Fundraising

2009-2010 will be Kate’s third year as co-chair of the fundraising committee.  Kate has been very instrumental in getting the local businesses to support PS 3.  Kate has two sons.  She can be seen volunteering at most of the PS 3 events!






Kim Taylor-Tibbals, Co-VP of Fundraising
Kate and Kim are sharing the task of  coordinating various fundraisers for our PS 3 community.  2009-2010 will be Kim’s 9th year @ PS 3, as she has a son who graduated in 2006 and another entering 3rd grade. She has coordinated the food for the Silent Auction for two years. Kim is a writer and also teaches copywriting.







Claire Honig, Secretary, Class Funds

Claire was a second grade teacher for 7 years before the arrival of her oldest son, Matthew.  After a brief return to teaching she ran a Mommy and Me class once a week for a few years.  She then had a second son, Max.  Prior to living in Manhattan, Claire lived in Belle Harbor. Her children attended PS 114, where she was President of Fundraising.  She knew she wanted to be involved at PS3 the moment she arrived.  She was asked to take over Class Funds.  2009-2010 will be Claire’s third year in the role.







Dr. Yin Ho, PTA Secretary

Yin (pronounced “ing”) is the proud mother of two daughters: one in K/1 (Viola) and another in pre-K (Talia).   She is thrilled to be a part of the PS 3 community and finds the values espoused and promoted by PS 3 to be the best representation of how communities should work and the foundation for developing intelligent, socially conscious, and involved citizens of the world.

Professionally, Yin is the Vice President of Corporate Strategy at Medidata Solutions Worldwide, a global clinical trial software solution company based in downtown Manhattan.  Yin is a licensed physician trained as an emergency medicine physician who left medical practice more than ten years ago to pursue a business degree and join the eHealth strategy and health policy arena as a business executive.  She has worked for biotechnology start-ups, pharmaceutical companies, and clinical research organizations. 

Yin is an avid swimmer and enjoys cooking and wines. She is also a bit of a movie junkie.  She is married to Dr. Henry Hsia, an academic plastic surgeon and biomedical research scientist at UMDNJ/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and Princeton University. Yin and Henry love living in the West Village and are determined to raise their girls in NYC to become savvy, caring, and conscientious residents of the greatest city in the world.






Tara Rochkind, PTA Secretary

Tara, with her partner Kit, has a son, Wes, going into 1st grade, and a younger daughter, Lily.  She volunteered as a Class Parent during Pre-K.  Currently, Tara splits her time as a parent and an architect.
